I know this isn’t a sketch, but I have been working on this series for my dad’s Christmas present. There will be one for each season. I hope that he likes them, and I hope you do too.
So here is me in a nutshell. I love to plan. I come up with ideas for craft projects, design and diy ideas, etc but I rarely follow through. It’s something that I have to work on, and something I have been struggling with for a very long time. So, my new goal is to follow through with everything. If I start something, I have to finish it. Call it a very early New Years Resolution. Currently, I’m working on two sweaters for X-mas and those definitely have to be finished. But as for the rest, the plans are to come up with a new design scheme for my apartment, focusing on DIY Projects because I have a very small budget and finish some more knitting for me, myself, and I, and anybody else who wants them.
Here are some ideas for the knitting projects, and I am planning on putting together inspiration boards for each room so you will see those very soon!

This is from Anthropologie and I love it. For the actual project I want to work on, I will knit a simple white kimono style sweater and try embroidering the floral pattern….we shall see.

Also from Anthropologie, and I love the ruffles on the bottom.
First Christmas presents, then the world!!
Time to blow off some steam!
With some inspiration….

From Swedish Design House , I love the texture of the lace on the canvas. But I can’t afford to pay $73 for this. So why can’t I do this on my own? A few old doilies, a canvas and some white paint!! I can’t wait to try it!

It’s so funny that I found this. My friend and I have had an ongoing discussion about how she wants to have a piece of wood with a quote of some sort that she could hang above her mantle. Then today on Swedish Design House I found these too!

This is what I want in my living room. A tall paper lamp like the one in this picture. I also need to clean the couch, clean the apartment, get some curtains, different shelves, stools, a coffee table…..oh the list goes on and on.

This is a great DIY project. Simply take little square pieces of patterned paper, a little glue, and voila! Instant artwork!
So midterm presentations are this week, and I’m freaking out just a little bit. scary scary scary. But, I wanted to share a little bit of what I am working on. For this project, as well as for my thesis, I am reinterpreting the manufactured home. The site is on campus, and I am using shipping containers as a catalyst for this study. I am really enjoying it and I can’t wait to continue working on this, but I hate presentations!!!

I’ll let you know how it goes, wish me luck!
On another, more fun front, I have spent a good bit of time procrastinating and surfing design blogs instead. I thought I might share a few treats with you.

- It’s so girly, I love it!

- I want this chair!! I’m such a sucker for embroidery.

- The dramatic use of colors is awesome! ( I’m a geek I know)
Enjoy!
I’m taking a break from school work to work on the knitting of sweaters and to see what’s going on in the blog world. If you haven’t noticed I’m a bit ADD with my creative endeavors and lately I have been on a knitting kick. Generally when this happens I head over to Ravelry to find bloggers with the same interest in knitting. I found the coolest project while browsing, and while I’m not sure whether I would actually ever want to have this in my house, it is incredibly tempting.
So cute!
Don’t we all need a little whimsy in our lives? I think we do!
Well, fall break is over (officially at midnight) and I was going to share a sketch I had made of the list of X-mas presents I was planning for my family. But, my stupid, persnikety, old scanner has decided that it doesn’t want to work right now. So you will have to settle for pictures instead.
Now I know you might say that it is a little early for X-mas presents, but I am planning on making most of them so I have to start early. The first on my list is my mom. I found this craft on Martha Stewart’s website, and I’m not sure is she will actually love them or if she will love them because I made it, but well, there it is.
The second one is the Favorite Cardigan by Wendy Bernard, from her book, Custom Knits. This is for my middle sister, and I really hope she likes it.

The Favorite Cardigan
The third one that I am working on is my own take on The Big Bad Noro by lemonfresh. I”m using different yarn, and the construction will be a bit different, but it is a big project so I hope it turns out well. It is for my youngest sister, and it will be perfect for those cold, cold winters in Boone.

That’s all I have for now, hopefully inspiration will continue to hit, because I have a husband who is extraordinarily difficult to shop for.
Wish me luck!

These boots were made for walkin...
I want these! I’ve been drooling over these for a while, and I have already planned on buying these with whatever xmas money I receive. Hehehe maybe J will see this and buy them for me!
Well I haven’t posted in a while, and hadn’t planned on doing anything to change that. But, I find myself drawing more these days; whether its a way to procrastinate from doing schoolwork, or to occupy the time. So I’m going to try again, and refocus my attempt to sketch more.
Today I had to tackle my jewelry box, as it was one giant ball of jewelry. As a reward for finishing the work I started, I sat down and drew this.

Don't mess with a girl and her pearls...
